Paul Newman

One of the World's most gifted actors and a great humanitarian died yesterday. Paul Newman was 83 years old and died of Lung Cancer. When the news came on the TV this morning it deeply saddened me. He was one of my favourite actors. Everything I've ever read about him made me wish I could have met him. My God he was handsome right to the end. Who could resist those stunning blue eyes! (Apparently though, he was colour blind!) I think I've seen almost all his movies, and it's hard to pick a favourite, but I think it would have to be The Sting, with Robert Redford starring alongside Paul. They made a good team. Paul was so generous with his success. Giving away millions of dollars to charities around the World. Donating all profits from his food company, Newman's Own, to his foundations to help children. I admired the fact that he kept his private life..private and his long marriage to Joanne Woodward was a testament to their love and commitment.
